TCI engaged at the Asian Regional Summit organized by the ASEAN Disability Forum and International Disability Alliance , with support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation in Bangkok. As part of the Global Disability Summit (GDS) 2025 pre-summits, the Asian summit provided a platform for OPDs to gather, share experiences, and engage with diverse stakeholders in preparation for the GDS.
TCI emphasized that true inclusion goes beyond reforming mental health systems, it requires abolishing discriminatory laws, strengthening OPD leadership, and investing in community-based support systems. As we move toward GDS 2025, TCI will continue to advocate for stronger regional actions that drive commitments to reinforce the CRPD and meaningful inclusion of persons with disabilities in development agendas.
At TCI we express a heartfelt thanks to all stakeholders with whom we could connect during the summit, and for supporting a collective action toward disability inclusion in the region.
