Both individuals and organizations can apply for becoming Network Members of TCI. Further, network members can apply as: Core members, Associate members and Ally.
Organizational Membership
As an organization, you may apply under any one of these categories: Core, Associate and Ally.
Core Member: Core Member is an OPD (organization of persons with psychosocial disabilities) which is governed by themselves; is actively trying at the provincial or national levels to transform communities towards the full inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities in line with the UNCRPD. Core organizational member criteria include:
- Registration as a legal entity.
- The majority of persons in governance are persons who identify as persons with psychosocial disabilities.
- Have a mission to advocate for inclusion within development.
Associate Member: Associate Member may be a collective or group of persons with psychosocial disabilities working at national or provincial levels, which may not be registered; maybe a national cross-disability organization that has closely supported persons with psychosocial disabilities or their organizations is working towards the cause of actively trying to transform communities for the inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities in line with the UNCRPD; and has as a mission to advocate for the inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities within development.
Ally: Allies are organizations who provide a range of support functions to TCI, have no formal role within the governance structure, and with who the alliance may partner on specific programs or contributions to TCI. Such an organization would have as one of its missions, the inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities within the development. The organization will have an information-sharing platform with TCI, sharing opportunities and providing mutual energy and support for forwarding the agenda of inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities.
Individual Membership
A person with a psychosocial disability may apply as an individual member to TCI, in case no national OPD of persons with psychosocial disabilities are available in their country; or, they are not aware of any such, or there is no emerging leadership of persons with psychosocial disabilities in their countries just yet. As an individual you may apply under any one of these 3 categories:
Core Member: A core member is any person with a psychosocial disability that is actively trying at the provincial or national levels to transform communities towards the full inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities in line with the UNCRPD.
Associate Member: Associate member is any person working cross-disability at the provincial or national levels, who has closely supported persons with psychosocial disabilities and their organizations in their country; and are actively working towards the cause of transforming communities for the full inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities in line with the UNCRPD.
Ally: Any person working and contributing to TCI in the capacity of expert, technical support, researcher, human rights activist, or other agents of change within development. An ally would have no formal role within the governance structure, and with who the alliance may partner on specific programs or contributions to TCI. The person would have contributed to the inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities within development. Such individuals will have an information-sharing platform with TCI, sharing opportunities and providing mutual energy and support for forwarding the agenda of inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities worldwide.
