TCI has presence in over 50 countries from around the world, spread across various sub regions of South Asia, SEA, Pacific, East Asia, MENA region countries, East Africa, West Africa and Latin America. TCI also has a small set of members from Europe, USA, Australia and Canada.
TCI has two main categories of members.Network members and Full Members.

Network Members
Both individuals and organizations can apply for becoming Network Members of TCI. Further, network members can apply as: Core members, Associate members and Ally.
Organizational membership: As an organization, you may apply under any one of these categories: Core, Associate and Ally.
Core Member: Core Member is an OPD (organization of persons with psychosocial disabilities) which is governed by themselves; is actively trying at the provincial or national levels to transform communities towards the full inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities in line with the UNCRPD. Core organizational member criteria include:
- Registration as a legal entity.
- The majority of persons in governance are persons who identify as persons with psychosocial disabilities.
- Have a mission to advocate for inclusion within development.
Associate Member: Associate Member may be a collective or group of persons with psychosocial disabilities working at national or provincial levels, which may not be registered; maybe a national cross-disability organization that has closely supported persons with psychosocial disabilities or their organizations is working towards the cause of actively trying to transform communities for the inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities in line with the UNCRPD; and has as a mission to advocate for the inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities within development.
Ally: Allies are organizations who provide a range of support functions to TCI, have no formal role within the governance structure, and with who the alliance may partner on specific programs or contributions to TCI. Such an organization would have as one of its missions, the inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities within the development. The organization will have an information-sharing platform with TCI, sharing opportunities and providing mutual energy and support for forwarding the agenda of inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities.
Individual membership: A person with a psychosocial disability may apply as an individual member to TCI, in case no national OPD of persons with psychosocial disabilities are available in their country; or, they are not aware of any such, or there is no emerging leadership of persons with psychosocial disabilities in their countries just yet. As an individual you may apply under any one of these 3 categories:
Core Member: A core member is any person with a psychosocial disability that is actively trying at the provincial or national levels to transform communities towards the full inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities in line with the UNCRPD.
Associate Member: Associate member is any person working cross-disability at the provincial or national levels, who has closely supported persons with psychosocial disabilities and their organizations in their country; and are actively working towards the cause of transforming communities for the full inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities in line with the UNCRPD.
Ally: Any person working and contributing to TCI in the capacity of expert, technical support, researcher, human rights activist, or other agents of change within development. An ally would have no formal role within the governance structure, and with who the alliance may partner on specific programs or contributions to TCI. The person would have contributed to the inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities within development. Such individuals will have an information-sharing platform with TCI, sharing opportunities and providing mutual energy and support for forwarding the agenda of inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities worldwide.

Full Members
To be acknowledged as a Full Member, an entity must meet the following conditions: i) Being a legal entity or organization of persons with psychosocial disabilities; ii) Sharing the purpose of the Association and iii) Attend the General Assembly with voting rights. Full Membership is open to core organizational members (OPDs) who are identified and approved by the Membership Committee and the Board.
- This is the only place on the planet where persons with psychosocial disabilities get regular updates and news about various international news and potential spaces for influencing policies, laws and stakeholders.
- We share news about opportunities to participate in contributing to UN human rights mechanisms such as COSP, Day of General Discussions, etc.
- We connect members with our national focal points to bring convergency to national advocacy.
- We source opportunities where our members can build their own capacity, such as the BRIDGE program, human rights trainings, or leadership trainings.
- We provide a broad campaign space for our members to contribute live, with their issues in diverse formats.
- We have a variety of instruments (fellowships, OPD grants, microgrants, country missions, etc.) where members can seize the opportunity to build their capacity and contribute.
- We support and encourage individuals to develop their own OPDs.
- We offer many learning webinars online per year, for people to catch up with latest news from our sector and the hot debates happening.
- We share useful resources of our organization and wider networks with the members.
- We invite our members to be part of Working Groups, consultations, reviews of crucial documents/upcoming reports.
- Opportunity to network with other members and organizations and get a feeling of being a part of a global community or movement of persons with psychosocial disabilities.
