CII-T Orientation & Peer Exchange Workshop, TCI Extra-Ordinary General Assembly & Consolidation of TCI Strategic Framework 2025-203

TCI ended the year with an in-person gathering of our members, who came together to learn with each other, engage in nuanced discussions, and strengthen the shared work that connects our communities across contexts.

In Kuala Lumpur, over three days, we held an orientation session and peer learning exchange on the Community Inclusion Indicators Tool (CII-T). The tool was developed by TCI to support member OPDs to document and reflect on their community inclusion efforts in a structured and CRPD-aligned way. Members explored various domains and thematics of community inclusion work, reflected on what inclusion looks like for themselves and their peers, and deliberated upon how the tool could be useful in their own work. We also spent time orienting them to the tool, practising how to fill it, and connecting each domain to the real actions.

CII-T is one way of how we make community inclusion work visible, tracking progress over time, monitoring our work, and strengthening advocacy with practice-based evidence and OPD-owned data, without losing the complexity and nuance that our lives hold.

For the following three days, we convened our Extra-Ordinary General Assembly, where we held a detailed and forward-looking conversation about TCI’s strategic direction for the next five years. Members discussed the priorities we must sharpen, the values and identity we must protect, and the practical steps needed to strengthen member ownership of the alliance, including clearer roles and peer accountability, deeper participation across regions and languages, stronger coordination, and a collective voice that is unified in purpose while still honouring our diversity.

As we head into the next steps, we carry forward a clear direction to keep strengthening an alliance that is connected, grounded, and member-led.

We thank each and every TCI member, those who joined us in person and those who could not be there in person, for your continued engagement throughout the year. Your commitment, support, and leadership are what make this alliance possible. The work continues, and we continue it together.
