Global Coalition on Deinstitutionalization (GCDI) has been conducting a webinar series titled ‘From Words to Practice’ aiming to unpack the chapters of the UN Guidelines on Deinstitutionalization, including in emergencies. As part of the webinar series, Transforming Communities for Inclusion (TCI Global), is organizing a thematic workshop (session 5) which will focus on chapter VII of the Guidelines titled ‘Access to mainstream services on an equal basis with others’. The webinar will take place on September 19, 2024 (Thursday) from 4:30 pm IST-6:00 pm IST/12:00 CEST-13:30 CEST on Zoom.

The webinar will include voices of persons with disabilities and their representative organizations along with civil society representatives who will shed light on the relevance of these services along with discussing some good practice examples from their regions/communities. It will be followed by a short open dialogue session where the participants will be welcomed to share their thoughts or comments and ask questions.
